Letters from Viewers
I get a fair number of e-mails from visitors to our website. I regard each one as sincere and special. However, this one from Bob Hess touched the very "heart" of what this web site is about. I have obtained Bob's permission to publish his e-mail so as to share it with all of you. Thank you, Bob.
I will be reviewing both past and future e-mails. At my discretion, I may be adding others to this page. Your permission will be obtained before inclusion.
I also try to answer as many of the e-mails as is feasible. Sometimes I'm really slow getting to that due to other commitments of my time. But I sincerely thank each and everyone of you who take the time to visit us and to write. I also either pass along your comments, or read them, to John. Unfortunately, you can not see his face whenever that occurs, otherwise you would know instantly how much he appreciates your thoughtfulness. So a big thank you from both of us. Doris & John

Hello,
It was nice to find a web site so nicely dedicated to a Pearl Harbor Survivor, your husband John. My father is also a Pearl Harbor survivor and it is important that we always Remember Pearl Harbor.
I was also in the US Navy. However I was a Hospital Corpsman during the Vietnam era. I am proud to say that I served in the Navy, but I admit that what your husband, my father and all the rest went through make my service seem like Boy Scout Camp. You should be very proud of your husband, as I am proud of my Dad. He won't talk about it much though.
Please convey to your husband from me a profound and grateful "THANK YOU" for winning a war that had
to be won at all costs. His bravery is appreciated.
I think that we as a country have many things to be thankful for and proud of. Let's make sure that all the WWII vets know that while we will never know what price they paid, we appreciate very much that they paid it.
Thanks,
Bob Hess
